Description:
- Serves as subject matter expert for structural design of assigned Military projects or portions of Civil Works projects.
- This includes design of reinforced concrete and structural steel framed buildings, concrete gravity dam sections, miter, tainter, and vertical lift gates, concrete retaining walls, building foundations, bridges, and other structural engineering assignments of a complex nature.
- Assist in the preparation of structural designs and specifications for new construction, renovations and repairs of conservation projects; and conducting structural surveys to address natural resource protection issues.
- Review, coordinate, and monitor technical aspects of projects from design to completion; develop and complete engineering projects involving areas such as construction, modification, alternation, building renovations, to assure that the structure or facility will be technically sound and meet user's needs; design review of internal and external A/E designs, and develop independent government estimates (IGE) for projects.
- Produces complete contract packages including, but not limited to IGE, drawings and specifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in professional engineering in a school of engineering accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
- Current registration as a professional engineer, licensed to work in Oklahoma
- At least 7 years of experience
- Knowledge of design for Department of Defense facilities
- Knowledge of Structural Design for Department of Defense buildings
- Knowledge to perform Structural Designs that incorporate progressive collapse and blast proofing.
- Knowledge to perform Structural Design for inspection services for Federal and State Bridges and Dams.
- Knowledge of the Internal Building Code, NFPA Life Safety Code, ASCE 7-10, ACI318-11, AISC 360, UFC 3-301-01 and UFC 3-310-04.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule).
- Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
