GDI&A Data Factory is looking for a Data Engineer within the Data Factory Data Governance & Usage - Data Quality Team . In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies such as GCP (Google Cloud Platform), BigQuery, DataProc, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Python, PySpark, and Scala.
The minimum requirements we seek:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology.
- 5+ years of experience in building and optimizing data pipelines using both batch and streaming processing frameworks.
- 5+ years of experience working with big data and Proficiency in SQL with the ability to write complex queries for data integration and quality validations.
- 2+ years of experience working with any programming/data science languages and familiarity with PySpark/Scala/Python.
- 1+ years of experience working on GCP cloud technologies BigQuery, DataProc, Cloud Run, and Pub/Sub.
- Solid understanding of data engineering principles, including data integration, transformation, and validation such as developing and building EL/ELT/ETL data pipelines, ensuring the right data is made available, etc.
- Knowledge of Machine Learning, ML Models, Statistical Models, etc.
Our preferred requirements:
- Advance Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Math, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
- Experience in creating visualization dashboards using QlikSense or similar tools.
- Knowledge of data quality best practices and techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of UI development is a plus.
- Exposure and experience with Ford Architectural standards, processes, and documentation primarily with Google Cloud Platform as it applies to the Data Factory
- Experience writing and speaking about technical concepts to business, technical, and lay audiences and giving data-driven presentations

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management in varying areas of business and enterprise technology

Your primary responsibility will be to enhance and maintain as well as integrate various data sources into our homegrown data quality tools, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our data. You will also collaborate with other groups within the Data Quality Team to provide a complete data quality solution, including visualization dashboards using QlikSense.
What you’ll be able to do:
- Enhance the functionality of our data quality tool based on identified requirements, incorporating new features to meet evolving needs.
- Optimize the performance and stability of the data quality tool to handle increasing volumes of data and data sources efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design robust data integration solutions.
- Collaborate with other groups within the Data Quality Team to provide a comprehensive data quality solution, including visualization dashboards using QlikSense.
- Integrate thousands of data sources into our homegrown data quality tool, ensuring seamless data ingestion and transformation.
- Implement data quality checks and validations to identify and address data discrepancies effectively.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide support in leveraging the data quality tool for high-quality data insights.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends in data engineering, incorporating them into our data quality processes.
- Contribute to the overall data quality strategy and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
