Actalent Engineering is seeking an Engineer to support a DoD program. The ideal candidate should have experience with Java and Fortran.
- Masters or PhD in Physics, Computer Engineering, etc.
- Experience with computational simulations
- Can code well and understand the models. Can present to customers and eventually grow to be a lead
- Requires a MS or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil), Physics, or similar
- Minimum of 1 years work experience – but this can be flexible if the candidate is otherwise highly qualified
- Primarily programming in Java which is required
- Some C++ experience is desired
- Preferred – someone with prior knowledge of Fortran
- Preferred – someone with any experience with developments tools like Git, Eclipse (or IntelliJ) , Visual Studio, JIRA
- Preferred – someone with any experience with compiling and developing for or on Linux OS
- High communication skills
- Most of the work can be done on Windows, but will eventually have to work with Linux
Desired
- Experience with related DoD software systems and models
- Current active security clearance is preferred (Needs to be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance)
- Experience developing and deploying software to DoD IA requirements
- Knowledge of nuclear weapons effects and a background of scientific programming
- They will have tasks that include data validation and verification, including creating reports; This may include visualization of data
- Need to be able to understand the effects being modeled and validated
- Able to execute simulations and document results
