Our organization, Insight-AWP, is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large datasets, developing data pipelines, creating and maintaining data models, and designing visualizations. Experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects is a plus.

This position involves collaboration with team members from various departments across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Design, develop, and maintain data warehouses/data lakes.
- Develop and maintain data models to support analytics and reporting.
- Create compelling data visualizations.
- Integrate data from multiple sources for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor and optimize data systems performance.
- Assist with schema design, code review, and SQL query tuning.
- Automate data processing tasks through scripting.
- Support the IT Team in maintaining cloud services health.
- Document technical processes and applications.
- Manage cloud resources efficiently.
- Deliver work accurately and meet deadlines.
- Proactively recommend system improvements.
Technical Expertise (Required):
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience with JavaScript and Node.js
- 1+ years of experience administering, managing, and optimizing databases (SQL Server preferred).
- 1+ year of experience with Microsoft Power BI for data visualization.
- 1+ years of experience leveraging MS Excel and Power Query for data manipulation.
- Solid understanding of data structures, schema design principles, and best practices.
Additional Skills (Plus):
- Experience with C#, Python, PowerShell, and DevOps.
- Technical certifications (Power BI, SQL, Data Modeling, Azure, CSP).
- 2+ years building user interfaces with React (or similar frameworks).
