The Spirit of the Position:

Our engineering team supports a complex ecosystem of products and services that power tens of millions of transactions and generate hundreds of millions in revenue. While managing this complex infrastructure, we continue to develop new products and iterate on existing ones. The Senior Technical Project Manager will coordinate and drive these efforts to ensure smooth, successful delivery for our teams and users.

As a senior TPM, you're expected to lead with a strong command of tools like JIRA, Confluence, Monday.com and various project dashboards to bring structure to complexity. You'll be responsible for tracking progress across multiple product development initiatives, ensuring accountability, surfacing risks early, and keeping stakeholders aligned and informed. Deep knowledge of project management methodologies, the software development lifecycle, and the risks at their intersection is critical.

You will lead execution across the full project lifecycle - from kickoff through delivery - ensuring requirements are clearly documented, engineering teams are unblocked, and timelines are realistic and well-communicated. This includes facilitating sprint ceremonies, managing cross-team dependencies, driving alignment on scope and priorities, and producing clear documentation and reporting for both technical and non-technical audiences.

This is not a hands-off project management role. You will work closely with the engineering team and its partners to deliver projects on time and within budget. You'll collaborate with Product, Marketing, and senior stakeholders to refine requirements, timelines, and scope. Comfort with ambiguity is key as our products continue to evolve.

Responsibilities:

Work cross-functionally across the product organization to deliver our projects on time and within scope.

Collaborate closely with product, engineering, design, partners, and clients to define project goals, timelines, and success metrics.

Establish and maintain clear communication processes, project tracking systems, and status reporting across stakeholders.

Develop and actively manage project plans, timelines, scope, and resources.

Proactively identify, track, and communicate dependencies, risks, and issues while also troubleshooting roadblocks and keeping momentum high.

Lead Agile ceremonies such as product backlog reviews, sprint planning and retrospective meetings, and daily standups.

Help build the foundation for our technical project management practices and tools as our team scales.

Work directly with leadership to align product delivery with business strategy.

Education:

Bachelor's degree preferred; preference given to candidates majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

7+ years of experience managing complex technical projects involving both front-end and back-end software development teams. This includes demonstrated experience ideally leading teams utilizing Next.js for front-end development and C# .NET with SQL for back-end systems.

Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle and modern engineering practices, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with both front-end teams and back-end teams on design, architecture, and implementation details.

Experience aligning project goals with the capacity and technical constraints of both front-end and back-end development teams. This includes a strong understanding of the nuances and potential integration challenges between the tech stacks.

Ability to effectively bridge communication between product management and engineering, translating business needs into clear technical requirements for both front-end and back-end teams while maintaining technical credibility with all stakeholders.

Knowledge of technical architecture, software development, UX/UI design, and product development lifecycle

Proven track record of delivering software or digital applications in a startup or fast-paced tech environment.

Deep understanding of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.

Strong experience working closely with Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers as well as clients/customers.

Strong stakeholder management experience, including presenting to executives, managing up, and aligning project outcomes with organizational priorities.

Technical background with proficiency in software development concepts, technologies, and integrations.

Comfortable working with ambiguity and adapting to changing priorities and requirements.

High degree of attention to detail.

Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

Demonstrated expertise with implementing and utilizing project management tools (namely, JIRA).
