Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Type: 1-Year Contract (W2 Only)

The Electrical Design Engineer will prepare designs, specifications, and cost estimates for roadway street lighting, parking lot lighting, and property site lighting projects in accordance with OUC policy and specifications. This role also oversees and manages capital and maintenance lighting projects.
Prepare designs, plans, cost estimates, lighting photometric analysis, and lighting security studies.
Coordinate lighting projects with Distribution Engineering, Transmission Engineering, FDOT, and city/county agencies.
Collaborate with developers, field personnel, contractors, and customers to meet project requirements.
Apply standards, codes, and engineering principles in the design and construction of lighting systems.
Stay updated on industry standards, products, and regulations through training and seminars.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Familiarity (or ability to learn within 1 year) with:
Strong communication skills for coordination with internal and external stakeholders
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Competent in arithmetic, percentages, and basic computations
1 year of experience with AutoCAD, AGi32, Visual, or other lighting design software
Experience with ePETS
Completion (or intent to complete within 2 years) of training in:
Outdoor lighting design
Photometric analysis
AutoCAD Lite
