Primary Purpose(s) or Position: Responsible for the ongoing evaluation of manufacturing equipment and processes. Recommend improvements for the effective use of labor, materials, equipment, automation, and physical plant space in an ongoing effort to produce a quality product and reduce the overall cost of manufacturing.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Design and build custom production machines and equipment utilizing PLC, PC, HMI,
pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
2. Repair, re-control, modify and upgrade existing equipment to maintain serviceability or improve operation.
3. Maintain machine programs and software and keep up to date back-up copies stored on the company server.
4. Identify problem situations, analyze alternatives, prioritize, recommend and document corrective action.
5. Maintain close surveillance of all operations for areas of potential process, quality, or
ergonomic improvement through use of lean tools, automation and/or electrical/mechanical assistance.
6. Participate with design and development in both design for manufacturability and
engineering change impact.
7. Creates/updates Industrial Engineering Department set-up sheets and tooling lists.
Participate in the development of training materials, tools and requirements to help
ensure quality results in the manufacturing area.
8. Participate in the investigation, justification, capability and purchase of new or used
machinery, equipment and production gages.
9. Promote a strong communication link with all departments, appropriate to maintain
smooth and efficient operations.
10. Support and promote Groschopp’s plans, programs and activities which contribute to the company’s continuous improvement.
11. Maintain professionalism and stay abreast of new developments through industry shows, vendors, in-house training, and contacts with or membership in professional organizations.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
