Job DescriptionAs Project Planning Manager, you will be responsible for the overall implementation of Davie's standard detailed planning processes and procedures across multiple shipbuilding and ship repair programs. More specifically, you will:
- Manage and continuously improve the processes used to develop detailed implementation job cards/work packages for issuance to the Production and Supply Chain Departments, as well as key subcontractors as required.
- Provide leadership and coaching to ensure complete and robust job cards/work packages are issued to the Production Department, enabling uninterrupted execution of the planned work.
- Establish, monitor, and use key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide management direction and correction on the performance of your direct reports working on the assigned projects.
- Monitor various project planning meetings to validate that your team is working on the right priorities, providing advice and guidance when required to correct prioritization of team efforts and project support.
- Collaborate with other functional managers to oversee interactions between departments that provide similar services-such as Engineering, Safety, and Quality Assurance-to ensure projects receive the necessary support for successful execution and completion.
- Consult regularly with program and project managers to anticipate future needs and improve the delivery of services provided by your team.
- Assist with ERP development and the implementation of other project control processes.
Qualifications - Recognized technical degree in Engineering, a specialized trade, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five years of leadership experience in production or planning, or equivalent experience in a naval shipbuilding or ship repair environment.
- Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong skills in organizing and managing a large number of tasks with varying priorities.
- Excellent organizational management skills, with a good team spirit.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with both clients and coworkers.
- Proficiency in Primavera, Aveva, Oracle (an asset).
- Advanced level of French (written and oral) and intermediate to advanced level of English (written and oral). English is required for this position, as the incumbent will be required to interact with our English-speaking clients, partners, and suppliers.
