Skills and Competencies

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with 5+ years professional programming experience

Require 5+ years experience programming in Python.

Require 3+ years experience manipulating raw data and working with ETL workflows

Require 3+ years experience in GitHub or similar source control

Prefer 3+ years experience in AWS

Prefer 3+ years experience in a distributed environment like Databricks or Hadoop.

Prefer 3+ years experience in a RDBMS like Oracle or PostgreSQL

Experience with big data a plus

Experience in Databricks or Event Driven Architecture a big plus

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Software Engineer to join our team! This position will require a software engineer that has a strong Python background, as well as experience building and manipulating large datasets. You will be working on the Core data infrastructure in Databricks using Python, Spark, Airflow, and similar technologies. Big data engineer experience working with a distributed processing environment is a big plus. Must have experience working on larger projects and coordinating with teams using tools like Jira and GitHub.

Work on developing and expanding our Core data platform in Databricks

Code datasets, improve transformation toolsets, expand a robust codebase, and modernize existing processes.

Work with big data in a Databricks and Spark environment on AWS

Develop data workflows that transforms, cleans and standardizes data.

Collaborate with Product, Data Operations, DevOps, and other teams.
About the team
You will be part of a growing software engineering team based in Boca Raton, FL. Our team is responsible for developing the next generation of data processing architecture and pipelines for Moody’s using Python in a Databricks environment.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $78,000.00 - $113,100.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
