Automation Engineer
Precision Hydraulic Cylinders is looking for a Automation Engineer to join the Industrial Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of PHCs welding program. You will learn, develop, and maintain the welding niche at PHCNA plant. You will also support the industrial engineering team with new welding technology and processes.
Responsibilities:
· Identify processes and operator activities that can be automated.
· Design, build and install automated cells working with vendors at PHCNA plant
· Experience with touchscreen HMIs, 24VDC PLC and IO systems
· Experience using code to manipulate and check IO signals to accomplish tasks within an automated system
· Experience using ladder logic programming to accomplish varying tasks within a PLC system
· Ability to accurately follow schematics to wire systems into PLC terminal strips and sensors/other equipment
· Familiarity with common practices of wiring, cable glands, crimping, soldering, types of cable
· Knowledge of how Inputs and Outputs are physically connected into a PLC or robot controller
· Understanding of servo motors/encoders and how they track motor positions, for both new installations and maintenance of current systems
· Monitor performance of automated system and process
· Perform Continuous Improvement activities and other duties to support the needs of the business.
Requirements:
· Program robot to perform specified tasks, applying knowledge of programming language and PLC's, using teach pendant and keyboard or control panel or robot controller
· Excellent mathematical, analytical and problem-solving, interpersonal skills and communication.
· Demonstrate knowledge, creativity and skills in mechanics and automation.
· Proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
· BS in Engineering or equivalent.
· Strong attention to details and quality.
· Ability to prioritize daily work as per department needs and meet the strict project deadlines.
· Ability to work independently and closely follow directions.
