A brief overviewThe Associate Sales Manager for Custom Synthesis is responsible for driving Bachem's high-quality custom peptide business. Leveraging a strong scientific background, they serve as a key liaison between customers and internal stakeholders, including manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, and project management, to ensure seamless communication, technical alignment, and successful project execution.
What you will do- Respond to customer inquiries with clarity and efficiency, translating their needs into clearly defined deliverables to ensure alignment with internal process and successful project execution.
- Use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (Salesforce) to manage and document sales pipeline
- Continuously expand expertise within Bachem by expanding involvement in the commercial dimensions of our custom synthesis production, driving strategic value through cross-functional collaboration.
- Oversee the management of purchase orders for assigned groups, ensuring precision and seamless handoff to the customer service team to maintain operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Provide proactive support to team members during periods of high workload or absences, ensuring continuity of operations and maintaining team performance standards.
- Initiate contact with potential customers through targeted email outreach and strategic cold calling to generate leads and build new business relationships.
- Coordinate and organize customer visits and on-site meetings, including participation in customer audits, to foster transparency, strengthen relationships, and ensure compliance.
- Collaborate closely with the Generics and NEC sales teams to provide strategic support, streamline communication, and contribute to the achievement of commercial objectives.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, pharma or life sciences
- Master's in chemistry, biology, pharma or life sciences (preferred)
- 0-1 year of sales experience in chemistry / life sciences
- 1 year of experience with the manufacturing of peptides (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- MS Office
- Salesforce (preferred)
Base salary range: $77,614 - $106,720
Placement of new hires in these wage ranges is based on several factors including education, skill sets, experience, and training.
