The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $28 - $41 per hour. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.
The pay range is not guaranteed compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards, such as a discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.

We're seeking a skilled and dynamic individual to join our team as a Machine Service Engineer. At GEA, we're committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation in high-speed machinery. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on cutting-edge high-speed machinery.
- Travel to spray drying facilities in North America to provide hands-on instructional training and perform inspections and repairs.
- Generate detailed inspection and field service reports, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Provide remote assistance to customers via telephone, demonstrating excellent customer service.
- Contribute to manufacturing processes for parts and assemblies using manual mill, lathe, and drill press when needed.
- Operate dynamic balancing machines to ensure precision and performance.
Dis-assembling, cleaning, and inspection of rotary atomizers in the Columbia, MD workshop and at customer facilities. Machining of parts on mill and lathe. Balancing of shafts and other components of the atomizer.
This position requires a strong mechanical background in machinery building and repair.
Your Profile / Qualifications

Qualifications:

Machinist certificate, Associate Degree, or equivalent hands-on machinist experience.

Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in machining, manufacturing, or equipment repair (preferred).

Solid mechanical aptitude with experience using precision measuring instruments.

Ability to read and interpret instruction manuals, assembly drawings, and machining schematics.

Skilled in the use of hand tools and standard machine shop equipment (e.g., mill, lathe, drill press).

Willing and able to travel within the U.S., Canada, and internationally on short notice.

Comfortable working with chemicals and cleaning agents used in machine repair.

Experience with dynamic balancing, manual milling, and lathe operation.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Highly self-motivated, capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Strong service orientation with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
