Scott Credit Union is looking to hire a full-time Data Engineer to join our amazing Business Intelligence team. This position works Monday through Friday, normal business hours.
**Training is to be completed in the first 60-90 days of employment at the Home Office.
**Upon successful completion of training, qualifying employees may be eligible for a hybrid schedule.

The Day to Day as the Data Engineer
The Data Engineer blends data engineering, business intelligence, and analytics to deliver high-impact insights that support decision-making across the credit union. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in data infrastructure, a passion for storytelling through data visualization, and a proven experience in financial services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Engineering

Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL process to ingest, transform, and store data from various sources.

Ensure the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of data infrastructure.

Collaborate with IT and business teams to integrate data sources and ensure data quality and integrity.
Data Visualization

Create, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports in Tableau for a variety of business stakeholders.

Translate complex data sets into clear, actionable insights through compelling visual narratives.

Provide support and training to business users on Tableau usage and self-service analytics.
Data Analysis

Conduct deep-dive analyses to uncover trends, patterns, and business opportunities.

Partner with business units to define KPIs and measure performance.

Deliver data-driven recommendations to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements.

To Be Considered, You’ll Need:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics plus one (2) years of experience in a role with the same or similar job responsibilities, Or
-
High school diploma or equivalent plus (4) years of relevant experience in the financial industry. Or
-
High school diploma or equivalent plus six years of relevant work experience. AND
-
Experience conducting exploratory data analysis, developing KPIs, and communicating insights to non- technical audiences.

Proficient in SQL and experience with relational databases (MSSQL, Snowflake, etc.)

Proficiency with Python.
Preferred Experience:

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Comfortable working cross-functionally and adapting to changing business needs.

Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards in the financial industry.

Experience telling stories with Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent visualization tool.

Experience with middleware tools such as Mulesoft.
