Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Biomedical Engineer to join our team. This role is essential for the development and improvement of medical devices and technologies that enhance patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in both engineering principles and biological sciences, enabling them to bridge the gap between technology and healthcare.
Duties
- Design, develop, and test biomedical equipment and devices, ensuring they meet regulatory standards.
- Conduct research to understand the needs of patients and healthcare providers, translating findings into practical applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, biochemists, and regulatory specialists to create effective solutions.
- Perform statistical analysis on data gathered from tests and experiments to validate product performance.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and ISO 13485 standards throughout the product lifecycle.
- Utilize mechanical design principles to create prototypes and refine existing products based on user feedback.
- Develop assays for testing biological samples as part of device validation processes.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles in design documentation to ensure precision in manufacturing.
Experience
Candidates should have a background in biomedical engineering or a related field, with experience or coursework in the following areas:
- Biochemistry and Biotechnology
- Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Design
- Statistical Analysis methodologies
- Familiarity with FDA regulations governing medical devices
- Understanding of ISO 13485 quality management systems
- Experience in conducting research relevant to biomedical applications
- Knowledge of assay development techniques
