Accelerate Engineering, PLLC (AE) is a dynamic and growing transportation engineering firm based in Cary, NC. We are seeking a self-motivated Traffic Engineer for our Cary, NC office. The successful candidate should have strong technical expertise in traffic studies and design, and preferably progressive project development and management experience. Task assignments may include traffic forecast, capacity analysis and simulations, study report preparation, signing & pavement marking design, signal design, traffic control plans, and safety analysis. Responsibilities may also include project management and marketing. Some travel to project sites or meetings may be required.
Job Requirements
- A minimum of two years of traffic analysis/design experience preferably with NCDOT. Senior positions are available for candidates with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Thorough understanding of capacity analysis methods and design principles, and familiar with NCDOT’s traffic analysis guidelines and design standards.
- Proficiency in traffic analysis tools (Synchro, TransModeler, VISSIM, SIDRA, HCS) and design programs (MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, GuideSIGN, AutoTurn)
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness and ability to learn new job skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- NC PE or ability to obtain PE is preferred.
