We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Capital Project Engineer to drive plant infrastructure, capital projects, and cross-functional improvements that support long-term operational excellence. This is a key leadership role with broad visibility across engineering, operations, and corporate strategy.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
7+ years of engineering experience
5+ years in a manufacturing environment
Proven experience managing large teams and complex capital projects
Strong knowledge of facility operations, process systems, and equipment commissioning
Familiarity with cost center and capital budget management
Experience in process equipment, packaging systems, controls, facilities, or construction/start-up
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead organizational change
Team Leadership & Development
Capital Planning & Budget Oversight
Own the capital budget: forecasting, tracking, and reporting
Maintain the 5-Year Capital Plan aligned with division-wide master plans
Project Execution & Engineering Initiatives
Drive project execution using Initiative Management (IM) tools
Oversee start-ups, FATs, and commissioning protocols for capital and expense projects
Deliver technical support for continuous improvement and process upgrades
Innovation Support & Process Transformation
Facility & Compliance Management
Manage utilities, facilities, and infrastructure reliability
Maintain permits, property records, and ensure compliance with all applicable codes
Lead Business Continuity Planning (BCP) for facilities and critical systems
Technical Safety & Sustainability Leadership
Oversee programs related to Process Safety, Fire Safety, Electrical Compliance, and Combustible Dust
Partner with HS&E and Sustainability teams to support environmental and energy reduction initiatives
Cross-Functional Leadership
Contribute to site-wide goals in Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Productivity, and Sustainability
Collaborate with senior leadership to deliver technical solutions that drive plant performance
Be the engineering voice at the table shaping plant infrastructure and performance
Lead multi-million-dollar capital initiatives and leave a lasting impact on operations
Work across disciplines in a culture that values accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
