Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Tooling Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing tooling systems used in manufacturing processes. This role is crucial in ensuring efficiency and quality in production, particularly within assembly line environments. The Tooling Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions that enhance production capabilities.
Duties
- Design and develop tooling for plastics injection molding processes to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues on the assembly line.
- Utilize CAD software such as Creo and AutoCAD for creating detailed tooling designs and modifications.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and reduce waste in factory settings.
- Program and maintain logic controllers for automated equipment used in the production process.
- Conduct regular inspections of industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Work closely with robotics teams on robot programming to enhance automation in manufacturing processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, applying quantum engineering concepts where applicable.
Skills
- Proficiency in designing tooling for assembly lines, particularly in plastics injection molding.
- Strong knowledge of logic controllers and their application in industrial settings.
- Experience with CAD software, specifically Creo and AutoCAD, for tooling design.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques to optimize production workflows.
- Understanding of industrial equipment maintenance and troubleshooting practices.
- Experience with robot programming to facilitate automation within the manufacturing environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a logical approach to engineering challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing multiple projects effectively.
- Must have a BS in engineering or 5 years of related experience.
- Tooling experience required.
- Excellent English communication skills both oral and written.
- Excellent organizational skills with dedication to quality.
- Knowledge in computer software for Windows, Auto-CAD or CAD equivalent
- Knowledge of IATF16949 and APQP processes
- Must be proficient with CAD
- Must understand simulation, die process’, die design and buy-off.
- Must be willing to work overtime.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
