Responsible for the overall development, implementation and coordination of an innovative efficient health system for Temple Health. Coordinates clinical statistics generated by Temple Health Hospital components to facilitate Hospital financial reimbursement, research, administrative planning, and satisfy Federal, State and accreditation requirements. Actively participates, upon request, in various inspections, surveys and audits conducted by the Joint Commission, Federal and State regulatory agencies and third-party payers. Administers the management of the Health Information Management Departments assuring the effectiveness of the services provided. Serves as the primary HIM resource for Health system executives, Medical Staff and other Hospital departments in all matters relating to patient health information. This is a highbred position. It is required that the Director is onsite at TUHS HIM department locations to meet the needs of the health system.
Education
Masters Degree: Health Information Management (Required)
Bachelors Degree : Health Information Management (Required)
Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience
5 years HIM experience in a university teaching health system (Required)
5 years HIM experience in a mutli-campus university health system with a minimum of 1 years' experience in an HIM manager position (Required)
Expert knowledge and experience in applying regulatory standards to the operations of a university teaching health system's health information management department (Required)
Expert knowledge of the EPIC HIM system modules (Required)
License/Certifications
RHIA - Reg Health Information Admin (Required)
