The Automation Engineer will lead and manage all aspects of automation projects from conception to completion. This role is responsible for improving production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness through the innovative use of technology and automation in a precision metal manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Develop Automation Strategies: Design and implement automation strategies that enhance production efficiency and reduce waste.
- Project Management: Oversee automation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the required quality standards.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to integrate automation solutions.
- Innovation and Improvement: Continually assess production processes to identify opportunities for improvements and innovations in automation.
- Technical Expertise: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automation technology and industry trends. Apply expertise in CNC Machines, robotics, and other programmable devices relevant to metal manufacturing.
- Vendor Management: Manager relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure equipment and software meet the company's strategic needs.
- Training and Development: Develop training programs for staff to ensure safe and effective operation of automated systems.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all automation projects comply with industry safety standards and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, with at last 3 years in a management role focused on automation.
- Strong project management skills.
- Extensive knowledge of CNC programming, robotics and PLCs.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
