Eni, we are looking for a
Legal Manager (Upstream) within
Nigerian Agip Exploration Ltd (NAE) in
Abuja. You will be responsible for providing legal assistance, advice and support to NAE and Eni's subsidiaries in Nigeria on contractual, administrative, judicial and extrajudicial matters, in accordance with applicable laws, as well as the policies, rules, and procedures established by the company.
Main responsibilities:
- Support all departments with timely advice on legal matters relating to contracts, licences, commercial agreements, portfolio management activities, governance, corporate secretarial matters, laws and regulations.
- Attend meetings with third parties and government authorities regarding NAE's activities in Nigeria.
- Manage and engage on relevant legal issues with industry stakeholders and partners.
- Oversee legal representation and defence in disputes and litigation, including managing external legal providers and assessing the quality of their contributions.
- Liaise with external legal providers appointed by NAE and Eni's subsidiaries in Nigeria, or in relation to NAE's activities in Nigeria.
- Coordinate with Eni's legal department at headquarters, ensuring prompt reporting of all material legal issues.
- Act in compliance with the Code of Ethics, SOA and Model 231.
Skills and experience required:
- Degree in Law.
- Registered with the Nigerian Bar Association.
- Significant experience in a managerial position within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of legal concepts within the upstream sector.
- Proven ability to provide strategic legal leadership.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, with sound judgement and professionalism.
- Fluent in English.
