Senior Piping Engineer within
Agip Karachaganak B.V.in
Aksai,
Kazakhstan. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of piping systems design within the Karachaganak asset, ensuring all engineering standards and safety requirements are upheld. You will investigate and resolve piping engineering issues, applying technical expertise to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Additionally, you will engineer changes and additions to existing piping systems, including the preparation of preliminary cost estimates for proposed modifications to support project planning and decision-making.
Your employment contract will be managed by Eni International Resources Ltd (EIRL).

Main responsibilities:
- Complete assigned work on time to meet KPO schedules. This includes investigations, surveys, feasibility studies, calculations, conceptual and detailed design, production of isometric drawings and piping/equipment layout drawings, engineering reports and scopes of work, cost estimation, equipment and material specification, and procurement.
- Supervise piping engineering work assigned to external design institutes and engineering companies to ensure progress and maintain quality.
- Report the progress of all assigned work to the Lead Mechanical and Piping Engineer.
- Participate in risk assessments and hazard and operability studies related to designs.
- Perform peer and inter-discipline checks on work completed by Engineers within and outside the Engineering and Technical Authority Department.
- Ensure compliance of assigned piping engineering work with the design brief or technical assignment, as well as applicable specifications, codes, and standards.
- Ensure the selection of cost-effective designs and materials, considering operating costs and standardisation of equipment.
- Control the technical compliance of purchased pipe, fittings, valves, and associated materials.
- Provide piping engineering support to teams involved in constructing and commissioning modified or new plant.
- Study best domestic and international piping engineering practices for application in design.
- Train and develop national staff.
- Issue high-quality, cost-effective designs and reports in a timely manner.
- Specify and requisition appropriate materials for the construction of designs.
- Carry out other instructions from management or line management within the scope of competence.
Skills and experience required:
- Higher education (University degree or higher) in the relevant speciality, and significant experience in the position of Piping Engineer.
- Knowledge of onshore oil and gas upstream facilities.
- Familiarity with engineering practices for project concept selection, FEED studies, detailed design, follow-on engineering and project closeout
- Understanding of plant piping and equipment layout in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in piping classes, materials and valve data sheets.
- Awareness of methods for specifying pipe systems, valves, and supports.
- Sound grasp of piping theory and its practical implementation.
- Knowledge of RoK and international codes, regulations and standards related to piping engineering.
- Up-to-date understanding of the latest developments and current best practices in piping engineering.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
