POSITION SUMMARY
The OEM Director of Technical Sales Engineering serves as the primary technical sales liaison supporting the company’s growth within the Automotive, Micromobility, Powersports and Lightweight Electric Vehicle (EV) Industries. This position is responsible for identifying and developing new OEM and Tier 1 business opportunities, managing technical and commercial relationships with new and existing customers, and ensuring alignment between client engineering teams and internal engineering and production departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, pursue, and secure new OEM and Tier 1 customers in targeted industries.
- Promote our brand, products, and capabilities within the automotive, micromobility, power sports, lightweight electric vehicle and related manufacturing sectors.
- Serve as liaison between customer engineering teams and internal departments.
- Manage pre-production activities including tooling documentation, purchase orders, billing, and quality processes.
- Secure RFQs
- Support quotation preparation, cost estimates, and proposal development.
- Conduct technical presentations and representation at trade shows (2–3 annually).
- Provide weekly updates and project reports; attend Project Meetings as needed
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in OEM technical sales, business development, or engineering account management.
- Experience in automotive glass and a solid book of contacts in the automotive industry.
- Familiarity with thermoforming, plastics, or polycarbonate manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and communicate engineering concepts effectively.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Self-directed and comfortable working remotely.
