We’re looking to hire a Data Engineer II (ML Platform Engineer) for a remote 6-month contract opportunity (with possible extension) with a leading global music streaming company known for its innovation, scale, and impact on how the world listens to music. This role requires EST hours.
In this role, you’ll join the Hendrix ML Platform team to help build a robust platform for training and serving ML models. You’ll play a key part in migration initiatives, lineage feature implementation, compliance support, and guiding users through platform transitions.
There is no application deadline.
Data Engineer II Responsibilities:
Assist with migration to a new orchestration system while enabling lineage between data and training pipelines.
Implement lineage features for training and inference workflows.
Provide insights into training data usage to meet compliance requirements.
Add Open Lineage support for training, inference, and feature generation endpoints.
Connect feature lineage to upstream pipeline lineage.
Support users transitioning to the new system, offering guidance and troubleshooting.
Communicate progress, risks, and obstacles proactively with the team.
Data Engineer II Qualifications:
3+ years of hands-on experience implementing production ML infrastructure in Python, Go, or similar languages.
3+ years working with a public cloud provider (GCP preferred).
Strong experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Ray (Ray Tune a plus).
Understanding of ML data processing fundamentals and pipeline management.
Familiarity with Flyte, Kubeflow, Huggingface, or similar tools.
Experience with agile processes and modular code design.
3–5 years of ML infrastructure experience with focus on deep learning frameworks (preferred).
Experience supporting large-scale migrations or platform transitions (preferred).
Understanding of compliance-related processes in ML workflows (preferred).
