Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Hardware Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and testing of hardware components for various projects. You will collaborate with senior engineers to ensure that all hardware meets the required specifications and performance standards. This position is ideal for individuals looking to grow their skills in electrical and mechanical engineering within a supportive environment.
Duties
- Assist in the design and development of hardware components, including PCBs and SoCs.
- Participate in project scheduling and manage timelines effectively.
- Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot hardware issues.
- Utilize AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other CAD software for schematic design and layout.
- Collaborate on system design projects involving programmable logic controllers and firmware development.
- Perform signal processing tasks and support testing of electrical systems.
- Engage in soldering tasks and surface mount technology assembly as needed.
- Support manufacturing processes by providing technical guidance on electrical experience.
- Document designs and maintain accurate records of all engineering activities.
Skills
- Proficiency in FPGA programming and SystemVerilog for hardware description.
- Familiarity with Python, C++, MATLAB, and scripting languages for automation tasks.
- Knowledge of quantum engineering principles is a plus.
- Experience with vision inspection systems, ohmmeters, and debugging techniques.
- Understanding of mechanical knowledge related to electrical systems integration.
- Ability to work with Revit, MicroStation, or similar software for project documentation.
- Strong analytical skills for effective root cause analysis and problem-solving.
- Troubleshoot devices that fail production testing or have been sent back for repair (note that this requires employee to be on site).
- Identify substitutes to replace obsolete parts and when necessary design accommodations for said replacements.
- Assist with the design of new equipment under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Ensure documentation of designs is kept up to date, stored, and disseminated properly.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Preferred
- Experience with analog, digital, and mixed circuit design.

This is a full-time on-site (Goleta, CA) position.

Pay: $5,000.00 - $7,000.00 per month
