We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Project Engineer to join our Engineering and Product Development dream team and help us drive Operational Excellence throughout our plants.
THE ROLEOrganize, Plan and Deliver Capital Infrastructure Projects- Select project team members, lead team, and motivate individual team members from project inception through post implementation lesson learned close out.
- Oversee and direct project teams; Manage conflict within the different groups.
- Define requirements and plan the project life cycle deployment. Plan / schedule project goals, milestones, and deliverables.
- Define resources for project and program implementation schedule.
- Develop Capital Project Request (CPR) Authorization for Expenditure (AFE).
- Identify and solve project issues effectively.
- Develop RFP (Requests for Proposals) for external services.
- Design and maintain project and technical documentation including project status reports. Provide timely information to all stakeholders.
- Undertake project strategy creation for contingency planning and risk mitigation.
Operations and Product Design Support- Develop Engineering solutions to technical problems. Provide production diagnostics support, troubleshooting, identify root cause and corrective actions for problems outside the normal production operating window.
- Implement projects to improve safety, efficiency, reduce cost and drive continued process improvements. Champion COMAR's process improvement culture (TPI-Three) technology.
- Follow Good Plant Engineering Theory & Practices to address shortcomings in plant systems.
- Support Customer Request for Proposal (RFP) process and Project Authorization for Expenditure (AFE).
- Responsible for cost management.
- Provide timely program communication to make decisions, manage priorities and eliminate business waste.
- Lead inter-department interaction with Operations, Engineering, and Vendors in the resolution of issues and build integrity and credibility at all levels.
- Communicate through reports, action registers, data analysis tools with team and stake holders.
Develop Standard Operation Procedures and Research Best Practices- Maintain part number database integrity and regimentation functions.
- Responsible for Bill of Materials (BOM) development and maintenance.
- Handle research and development and production tasks.
- Champion Comar's Stage Gate Project Management Process.
- Drive competitive improvement strategies, such as offshore equipment/mold sourcing, equipment refurbishment and technology improvements.
- Ensure equipment and systems meet all applicable safety, regulatory and environmental requirements.
- Provide education and training to key stakeholders in the plant.
Maintenance System Process Improvements and Medical Device Development Support- Assist in generation of quality documentation including DHFs, DMRs and DHR according to FDA and other regulatory bodies.
- Maintain post introduction monitoring to address customer requests for changes.
- Work with vendors to develop products that meet Regulatory and Quality standards.
- Perform and maintain market analysis for each product segment to identify new products opportunities and potential line extensions.
- Help drive standardized equipment, tooling and plant preventative maintenance programs, utilizing best practices across organization.
- Support plants in ensuring equipment and systems meet all applicable safety, regulatory and environmental requirements.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Packaging Technology, Engineering or related field, with four (4) years of process engineering / technical manufacturing experience in the plastics industry and four (4) years of Project Management experience.
Preferred: - Experience in a manufacturing facility using Injection Molding.
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience using CAD design software, SolidWorks and Auto Cad.
DO YOU HAVE...?- Solid Understanding of Statistical Process Controls (SPC) and Statistical Quality Controls (SQC) and techniques.
- Strong understanding of plastic processing equipment and plastic materials, including injection molding, injection blow molding, and extrusion molding using polyethylene, polypropylene, PET, polystyrene, and all other thermoplastics and engineering resins.
- Understanding of mold and tooling design related to plastic processing.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft office suite, database administration, ERP), proficient in creating and managing pivot tables in EXCEL and ability to become user proficient in IQMS.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and a strong understanding of Medical device industry regulations and quality documentation.
- Excellent organization, presentation, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to manage various technical resources.
- Leadership qualities to define requirements for project risks.
- Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization, including communication of complex projects in straightforward terms.
- Able to travel approximately 40% to visit corporate, plant, customer or supplier locations.
