The Role: We are seeking a highly motivated Jr. Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for triaging and resolving data-related support issues within JIRA. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development and maintenance of our data pipelines, utilizing a modern tech stack all hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their skills in data engineering and make a significant impact.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Python programming.
Familiarity with SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL).
Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts (e.g., Google BigQuery).
Exposure to or strong interest in Apache Airflow.
Exposure to or strong interest in PySpark.
Exposure to or strong interest in Delta Lake.
Experience with JIRA or similar issue tracking systems.
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Bonus Points
Previous experience in a data support or data engineering role.
Hands-on experience with specific GCP services relevant to data engineering (e.g., Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Composer).
Understanding of data modeling principles.

Zartico is a remote-first company with headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role is open to candidates located anywhere in the continental United States
