Engine System Performance Engineer
Must be a US Citizen
Onsite - 6 month position
Job Description
Define, test, and adjust engine performance characteristics and limits to meet OBD
requirements for on-highway diesel engines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare OBD monitors for validation testing.
- Determine testing needs and communicate them to test engineer. Work with test
engineer to make sure test plans are appropriate and thorough.
- Provide troubleshooting guidance if monitor testing has issues that are beyond the
scope of the test engineer.
- Review test results provided by test engineer and react accordingly to change
engine or monitor settings if necessary to validate the monitor.
Desired Skills
- In-depth understanding of OBD and engine performance.
- Familiar and comfortable with data manipulation and analysis. Specific analysis
tools will be taught.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to interact with other engineers and with
technicians.
Logistics
- Onsite in Columbus, Indiana.
- Periodically on call nights and weekends to support test engineers in keeping the
test cells running.
Education and Work Experience
- BS in an engineering field
- Experience running or directing an engine or chassis dynamometer test cell.
- Experience with analysis of test data.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant Engineering experience
