Director of Human Resources
Brunswick County is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Human Resources. The Human Resources Director serves as a key member of Brunswick County’s leadership team, reporting directly to the County Administrator and is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the County’s comprehensive human resources programs and policies. This includes employee relations, recruitment, classification and compensation, benefits administration, training, performance management, compliance, and personnel policy enforcement and maintenance. The Director ensures that all HR practices support the County’s mission, values, and strategic goals while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Starting salary $95,674.86, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefit package includes (health, dental and vision, flex spending, VRS retirement, paid holidays)
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Master’s degree and/or professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, IPMA-CP, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in human resources administration, preferably in a local government setting.
- Supervisory or management experience preferred.
