Description
- The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the fundamental physics associated with heat and fluid flow and the ability to apply this understanding to complex design modeling. The ability to clearly catch technically complex material and structure within cross-functional design by taking advantage of additive manufacturing is a must, as is the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities
- The primary responsibility of this role will be to ensure that, from initial concept to design fruition, all thermal objectives are met or surpassed in order to optimize the heat dissipation and transfer.
Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or Physics with emphasis on Heat Transfer or Fluid Dynamics.
- Understanding on conduction, convection (passive and active), and radiation
- Numeric modeling techniques and concepts associated with lattice structures
- A thorough understanding of heat sinks, heat exchangers, heat pipes and vapor chambers in extreme environment
- CAD and CFD tools for mechanical and heat transfer simulation
- Flow and thermal measurement techniques.
- Additive manufacturing processes related to heat exchangers
- The ability to think creatively and devise novel solutions to complex, multi-discipline design problems
- Persistent attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
