Entry Level - Electrical Design Engineer – Motor Control Systems (VFD Applications) Central, CT | Full-Time | Competitive Pay + Benefits
Are you an analytical problem-solver who enjoys turning technical concepts into real-world solutions? We’re looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to help develop custom motor control systems for Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) applications used across industries.
About the Role
You’ll play a key part in designing and preparing detailed electrical drawings that meet customer specifications while collaborating closely with sales, production, and engineering teams. Your work will directly support the creation of high-quality control systems that drive reliability and performance.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Producing detailed CAD drawings, schematics, and layouts for motor control circuits
- Coordinating mechanical, electrical, and structural components of system designs
- Preparing accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and assisting in quotation development
- Conducting design reviews and ensuring seamless handoff to production
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting expertise to internal teams
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Design Technology, or related discipline — or equivalent experience
- 1–2+ years of experience in electrical drafting or control system design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with ERP systems (INFOR/Visual experience is a plus)
