Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with expert-level SQL skills, strong experience in API integrations, and proficiency in data visualization to join our logistics and operations technology team. You will design, build, and maintain complex data pipelines across Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, and Azure environments, enabling seamless data flow and real-time insights.
This role requires advanced SQL expertise to extract, transform, and optimize large datasets, along with hands-on experience developing and managing RESTful APIs to integrate internal and external systems. You will also be responsible for creating and supporting Tableau dashboards that provide critical operational visibility and support data-driven decision-making across departments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-performance SQL queries and stored procedures in SQL Server, DB2, and Azure SQL
- Design, optimize, and automate ETL processes for operational and logistics data
- Build integrations using RESTful APIs and structured data transfers between systems
- Create and manage Tableau dashboards to support operational insights and executive reporting
- Support TruckMate TMS data extractions and integrations across departments
- Manage and monitor automated workflows via GoAnywhere MFT
- Work with Salesforce data for syncing, reporting, and operational use
- Collaborate with operations, dispatch, and analytics teams to deliver data solutions
- Proactively improve SQL performance, eliminate bottlenecks, and ensure data accuracy
- Document technical processes, schema changes, and data flow logic
Qualifications
- 4–5+ years of hands-on experience in a Data Engineer or similar data-heavy role
- Expert-level SQL skills — must be fluent with: window functions, CTEs, Nested subqueries, Index tuning, Performance optimization, Complex joins and aggregations
- Direct experience with: Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with RESTful API development/integration (JSON, tokens, authentication, etc.)
- Proficiency in Tableau for building dashboards and visualizing operational data
- Experience working with TruckMate or similar transportation management systems
- Familiarity with GoAnywhere or other MFT platforms
- Working knowledge of Salesforce data structures and integration points
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a production environment
- Background in logistics, transportation, or supply chain
- Experience in building data pipelines that support operations in real-time
- Comfortable troubleshooting across multiple database platforms

- Write efficient, production-ready SQL code used by operations, planning, and analytics teams
- Build reliable, scalable pipelines and API workflows
- Deliver accurate Tableau dashboards with timely data updates
- Maintain high standards for query speed, security, and documentation
- Communicate proactively and collaborate with both technical and non-technical users
Environment and Physical Requirements
- On-site at our Lithonia, GA office (1 remote day per week)
- Occasional regional travel as needed
- Requires extended computer use; occasional lifting up to 30 pounds

Pay: $85,000.00 - $102,000.00 per year
