Role:
As a key member of Device Interface Solutions (DIS), you will work closely with our R&D, worldwide design teams, Sales, and our global supply chain planners, to design and create custom Device Interface products for use by our customers.
Responsibilities:
Some of the key responsibilities of this fast paced, high growth, mission critical, market include.
PCB projects:
- Gathering customer printed circuit board (PCB) requirements for the current projects and for future roadmaps.
- Verifying customer data for completeness and feasibility in order to design and build a custom PCB.
- Lead a global design team to create a project costing, resources plan, and timeline. - Working with customers to develop circuitry, selecting components, and optimizing part placement to meet customer requirements
- Suppling customers (internal and external) current design status, risks, and milestones.
- Keeping track of customer requirement changes throughout the project. Inform global project team of any requirement changes and related impacts to the project
- Performing Schematic Capture and PCB Layout of the design in concert with our pcb design team.
- Coordinating and delegating schematic and layout work with other members in our worldwide team.
- Reviewing the board design work with internal and external customers.
- Escalating to management if a project is beginning to show signs of problems.
- Insuring that the final documentation is released at the close of each project.
- Working with suppliers to evaluate their capability to meet their design for manufacturing (DFM) requirements and Teradyne's internal design standards.
This position will require direct, face to face communication and meetings with customers and suppliers.
This position can be located in various locations in USA, though the job requires significant time on site work in Fremont, CA with customers and suppliers.
Ability to travel to be in Fremont is expected to be >50% of the work time. Volume of time will be project dependent.
Requirements:
Qualified applicants will have:
Demonstrated leadership of technical project teams.
Strong skills in Cadence Concept and Allegro CAD software including:
- HDL modules
- Constraint manager
- Creating pad stacks and library parts,
- Matched high speed, low crosstalk trace routing
- Low impedance positive power planes
Demonstrated capability and track record in designing PCBs for the Teradyne and 93K test equipment device interface boards (DIBs)
Demonstrated capability in DIB power supply and power management IC (PMIC) design for Teradyne and 93k test equipment.
Able to work with customers, internal designers, suppliers, and contractors to complete projects on time, accurately, and within budget.
Able to work with people in other countries around the world.
Thorough understanding of the PCB design, fab, and assembly processes.
Knowledge of PCB substrate technology (HDI and MLO) is a plus.
Strong understand WLBGA, WLCSP, FCBGA, and wafer probe technology and the supplier capabilities to integrate into DIB design requirements.
Able to communicate well in English, both verbally and written.
Electronic circuit design knowledge in analog and some digital.
Knowledge of signal delivery in time and frequency domains.
Knowledge of power integrity concepts:
- Power Impedance vs frequency optimization
- Power bypass methods
- Low inductance power transmission
- Pulse width modulation / Buck circuits
- Passive filters
Must have a BSEE or equivalent
Minimum of 8 years of experience in designing ATE DIBs
