Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing mechanical systems and components, utilizing advanced CAD tools, and ensuring designs meet industry standards and project requirements. Responsibilities
- Develop detailed mechanical designs using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo, including schematics and technical drawings aligned with GD&T standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot design issues and improve system performance.
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and simulations using tools like MATLAB, Simulink, and LabVIEW to validate design integrity under various conditions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Arduino-based systems, and other control components into mechanical designs.
- Ensure compliance with ASME codes & standards during the design process.
- Create system schematics and technical documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Support manufacturing by providing technical guidance on CNC machining, drafting, and fabrication techniques.
- Participate in project scheduling, timeline management, and coordination to meet project milestones efficiently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience with mechanical design, CAD drafting, and system modeling using SolidWorks, Creo, or similar software.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T principles, ASME codes & standards, and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Proficiency in FEA software such as MATLAB, Simulink, or ANSYS for structural analysis.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes including CNC machining and prototyping.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), LabVIEW, Arduino platforms, and system integration.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions effectively.
- Knowledge of quantum engineering is advantageous but not required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in schematic creation and system design documentation. Pay: $70,425.28 - $130,039.05 per year
