We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help advance our data capabilities and lead the development of reliable, scalable, and high-quality data to the business. This is a high-impact role where you’ll be a key early member of our growing Data Engineering team, partnering closely with our Data Engineering Manager to shape how we deliver trusted, decision-ready data across the company. You’ll play a critical role in how we collect, integrate, and transform data across systems—making it accessible through analytics, reporting, and dashboards that support decision-making every day.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and integrations across diverse systems and data sources
- Lead the development of robust data models, schemas, and storage patterns that support analytics, reporting, and downstream consumers
- Drive technical scoping, architecture, and planning discussions for complex data initiatives
- Write clean, maintainable, thoroughly tested code, and set the standard for code quality through reviews and guidance
- Debug and resolve data quality, pipeline reliability, and performance issues across the data stack
- Improve team tooling, orchestration patterns, development workflows, and data engineering best practices
- Collaborate with product, business, and engineers to deliver trusted, decision-ready data
What You Bring:
- 6+ years of experience designing, building, and scaling data pipelines, integrations, and data systems
- Strong experience with Python and modern ETL/ELT patterns (orchestration, automation, reliability)
- Hands-on experience in Azure data platforms, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, and Azure Synapse
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, plus experience working with structured and unstructured data in systems like MongoDB
- Experience building and supporting analytics and reporting solutions, including Power BI dashboards
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Git-based workflows, monitoring/data quality best practices, and a collaborative, growth-oriented mindset
- Ability to lead technical efforts, influence architectural direction, and align stakeholders around data strategy
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering, product, and business partners
- A passion for creating data systems that help users make better decisions and solve problems using data
Who You Are:
- You lead by example and share your passion to inspire those around you for growth. You are authentic, driven and positive.
- You possess emotional intelligence and empathy. You have a good sense of humor, are self-aware and self-critical, but not arrogant. You handle interpersonal dynamics with grace.
- You do more than the minimum to achieve outstanding results by being hands-on and rolling up your sleeves now and again when it’s necessary.
- You thrive in a growth-oriented company by embracing and adapting to changes easily. You are open-minded and flexible.
- Your clear communication fosters understanding and collaboration. You express ideas effectively but are also an active listener.
Flexible Work Model:
We believe the best way for us to grow is by creating a work environment that offers greater flexibility. This means providing opportunities for employees to be together in the office a few days per week, where interactions can occur more frequently and effectively. Being in person helps foster collaboration and team engagement, which is especially important when addressing complex problems and driving business innovation. At the same time, we value the focused, uninterrupted time that working from home provides, allowing for more dedicated project and productive work with minimal distractions.

Company Description:
GovDocs serves companies in building and executing their employment law compliance programs in two primary ways:
- We manage all the complexities of identifying and providing the required set of employment law postings from the 1,700+ potential postings across the U.S. and Canada. Using proprietary technology, we allow companies to manage, track and verify postings at each of their locations – including our patent pending PosterCheck technology. Our Employment Law Posting Update service is used by almost 22% of the Fortune 500 and 30% of the Fortune 100.
- This is a first to market Software-as-a-Service starting with our Minimum Wage product and Paid Leave products, which allow companies to identify and track which laws apply to their locations and employees, then provides all relevant data to make decisions. This service was created in response to requests from some of our largest customers who recognized that employment law expansion across and variances between jurisdictions (Federal, State and Local) were too difficult to manually track.
GovDocs has grown revenue annually by 18% since 2008 with a 96% customer retention rate, primarily due to our Postings Update Program both obtaining and retaining customers – as employment law postings are required by law, every company has an existing provider. Our Software Solutions are an entirely new line of business that gives us great growth potential to create a full Employment Law Compliance (ELC) platform of solutions, it is also challenging us to reinvent how we view urgency, innovation and teamwork.
You must be authorized to work in the United States. Immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
