Data Center MEP Engineer / MEP Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Center MEP Engineer / Manager to lead the design, coordination, commissioning, and ongoing optimization of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a mission-critical data center environment.
This role is responsible for ensuring infrastructure reliability, scalability, and efficiency across high-density compute deployments, including liquid cooling, redundant power distribution, and large-scale chilled water systems. The ideal candidate has direct experience with Tier III / Tier IV environments and understands the operational demands of 24/7 facilities.

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Systems (HVAC & Cooling)
- Oversee design and operation of:
- Closed-loop hydronic systems
- CDUs and liquid cooling systems
- Cooling towers / dry coolers
- Redundant pumping configurations (N+1 / 2N)
- Validate heat load calculations and thermal capacity planning.
- Optimize PUE and cooling efficiency.

Electrical Infrastructure
- Manage design and coordination of:
- Utility service and switchgear
- 480V / 415V distribution systems
- UPS systems and battery plants
- Generator systems and ATS configurations
- Support load modeling and capacity planning.
- Oversee short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies.

Plumbing & Ancillary Systems
- Oversee domestic water, process water, and glycol systems.
- Ensure proper expansion, pressurization, and filtration.
- Coordinate leak detection and monitoring systems.

Project & Construction Oversight
- Review engineering drawings (P&IDs, one-lines, layouts).
- Coordinate with contractors, OEMs, and commissioning agents.
- Lead integrated systems testing (IST).
- Validate redundancy and failover procedures.

Commissioning & Optimization
- Lead commissioning efforts for new pods or expansions.
- Ensure compliance with uptime and redundancy standards.
- Monitor system performance and recommend efficiency improvements.
- Support capacity upgrades and phased expansions.

Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure systems meet local building codes and regulatory requirements.
- Support audits (SOC 2, ISO 27001, customer technical reviews).
- Develop and maintain SOPs and MOPs.

Required Qualifications
- 7+ years experience in MEP engineering within:
- Critical infrastructure environments
- Redundant electrical configurations
- Closed-loop mechanical systems
- High-density cooling strategies
- Experience reading and reviewing:
- Electrical one-line diagrams
- Experience with commissioning and construction oversight.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field (PE preferred).
