Job Title: Functional Safety Engineer (Entry-Level)

Overview
We are seeking an entry-level Functional Safety Engineer to support safety and risk analysis for autonomous robotic vehicles. This role focuses on identifying hazards, supporting safety requirements, and ensuring safety is integrated throughout the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct safety analysis using STPA, FMEA, and FTA methodologies.
Support development of functional safety concepts and requirements for autonomous vehicle systems.
Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate safety requirements into design and development.
Assist with verification and validation activities, including safety testing and simulations.
Maintain safety documentation such as safety plans, safety cases, and safety reports.
Participate in safety audits and compliance reviews aligned with industry standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Computer Science, or related field.
0–3 years of experience in functional safety, robotics, automotive, or similar industries.
Familiarity with STPA, FMEA, or FTA safety analysis methods.
Understanding of functional safety standards and lifecycle processes.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Must reside in Texas
Preferred
Certifications such as CFSE, CFSP, AFSP, or similar functional safety credentials.
Exposure to autonomous vehicles, robotics, or heavy equipment systems.
