About the RoleThis position is with RINA, the parent company of DCC, a subsidiary of Strata Networks. The position will be located in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Vernal/Roosevelt, Utah, or remote. We are seeking a Telecommunications Systems Operations Engineer, full-time on-site in Roosevelt, Utah. Wage starts at $90,000-$115,000 annuallyto support and maintain our Linux-based telecommunications infrastructure. This hands-on role focuses on daily operations of PHP LAMP stack applications and core telecom platforms, including HSS (Home Subscriber Server), OTA (Over-The-Air provisioning), ENUM services, and carrier integration systems running on Ubuntu servers. The role blends Linux system administration, PHP application support, and telecommunications operations to ensure system availability, performance, and reliability.Core ResponsibilitiesTelecom System Operations & MonitoringMonitor production Ubuntu servers and critical telecom servicesPerform daily health checks on LAMP stack componentsMonitor HSS availability, OTA provisioning workflows, and ENUM servicesReview system and application logs, alerts, and security eventsTrack system uptime, backups, and service availability metricsTelecom Linux Server AdministrationAdminister Ubuntu LTS environments (20.04-24.04)Apply system updates, security patches, and package managementConfigure and maintain Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, SSL certificates, and firewallsMonitor and troubleshoot performance, resource usage, and service failuresImplement log rotation, cleanup, and routine maintenance proceduresPHP Application SupportTroubleshoot PHP applications and LAMP stack issuesReview PHP error logs and adjust configurationsSupport PHP upgrades, deployments, and dependency managementCollaborate with developers to resolve application defectsTelecommunications Systems ManagementSupport HSS subscriber provisioning and authenticationMaintain OTA platforms for SIM configuration and updatesManage ENUM databases for number routingSupport IMS-related services (VoLTE, VoWiFi preferred)Troubleshoot provisioning, authentication, and carrier integration issuesDatabase ManagementAdminister MySQL/MariaDB databases, backups, and recoveryMonitor performance, optimize queries, and manage replicationPerform data validation and generate operational and billing reportsIncident Response & DocumentationRespond to production incidents and outagesPerform root cause analysis and document resolutionsMaintain runbooks, system documentation, and configuration recordsParticipate in on-call rotation and scheduled maintenance windowsRequired Qualifications3-5 years of Ubuntu/Linux system administration experienceProduction experience with LAMP stack environmentsMySQL/MariaDB administration and PHP troubleshooting skillsBasic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)Familiarity with telecom concepts: HSS/HLR, OTA, ENUM, IMSI/MSISDNStrong analytical, documentation, and communication skillsPreferred QualificationsAWS or cloud infrastructure experienceDocker, configuration management, and monitoring toolsTelecom protocols (Diameter, SIP, RADIUS, SMPP)Scripting (Python or Perl), CI/CD, and security best practicesThis position is with RINA, the parent company of DCC, a subsidiary of Strata Networks supporting critical telecommunications infrastructure and operations.
