In support of our client, an industrial manufacturer, we are searching for an Industrial Project Engineer to join their engineering team near . This is a project-based contract opportunity with an expected duration of 3-6 months with the possibility of being extended if the candidate will travel across the southeastern United States.
The Industrial Project Engineer will support an industrial manufacturer and is a unique blend of project management, managing contractors, and coordinating with vendors and utility companies. A solid ability to manage engineering projects, contractors, vendors and an understanding of fluids or power systems is needed.
Industrial Project Engineer Responsibilities:
- Lead decommissioning projects for the client while working closely with contractors and vendors onsite.
- Manage project documentation, including design reviews, budgets, schedules, and scopes of work.
- Provide project oversight, contractor management, and ensure equipment decommissining are done effectively.
- Support production needs by troubleshooting and optimizing equipment operations.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to resolve technical issues and maintain equipment reliability.
- Support the preparation of training for emergency and preventative maintenance crews.
- Track project progress, control spending, and ensure compliance with safety and risk assessment standards.
Industrial Project Engineer Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering strongly desired.
- 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in project management.
- Experience with decommissioning industrial equipment required.
- Knowledge of SAP, MS Project, and AutoCAD is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to seek solutions when outside of your expertise.
- PMP, CEM, or PE certification is a plus, but not required.
