We are hiring a Data Engineer Consultant to help modernize and scale enterprise data platforms. In this role, you will play a key part in migrating legacy SQL and Python workflows into a Snowflake and DBT‑driven environment, while contributing to the long‑term evolution of the data architecture.
You’ll join a collaborative data team where engineers take ownership of business domains, partner closely with stakeholders, and influence how data solutions are designed and delivered.
What You’ll Do
- Support and execute data migrations to Snowflake and DBT
- Design, build, and maintain analytics‑ready data models
- Own delivery for one or more business verticals, from intake through production
- Work closely with analysts, engineers, and business leaders to translate requirements into data solutions
- Participate in architecture discussions, tooling decisions, and process improvements
- Gradually ramp up responsibilities, starting with scoped tasks and growing into full domain ownership
- Provide coverage and support across the data engineering team when needed
Required Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience with Snowflake and DBT in production environments
- Strong command of SQL and data modeling best practices
- Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS preferred)
- Proven ability to own projects end‑to‑end and solve complex data problems
- Willingness and ability to work onsite in Nashville, TN (flexible hybrid schedule available)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python for data pipelines or automation
- Exposure to Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Background or interest in finance, investments, or data‑driven decision making
- Previous experience supporting data platform or warehouse migrations
