Position Summary:
The Project Engineer supports the planning, execution and completion of engineering projects by coordinating technical activities, managing schedules, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with specifications and safety standards. The position will also work closely with maintenance and operations to develop areas for improvement to current processes as well as eliminating chronic problems within operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage or support capital projects from concept to completion with urgency and precision.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines and ROI analysis.
- Track project progress, costs, and performance metrics.
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Lead equipment installation, start-up, and validation activities.
- Improve process flow, throughput, and equipment performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (yield reduction, throughput, OEE).
- Support product commercialization from pilot to full production.
- Support sustainability initiatives (material reduction, energy efficiency, recyclability).
- Works closely with operations, quality, maintenance, procurement, R&D, and marketing partners as a key resource to ensure projects and initiatives are actively moving to completion.
- Ensure processes and project implementations comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality systems.
- Interface with equipment manufacturers and suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in packaging, mechanical, industrial engineering or related fields.
- 3-5 years of experience in engineering or project support roles.
- Experience in food, beverage, or related fields of manufacturing.
- Experience with process validation and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to mange multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills applying to people, projects or data.
- Experience with CAD software.
