Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and licensed Electrical Engineer (PE - IL) to serve as a Solar Farm Interconnect Specialist. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to lead and manage electrical system design, interconnection processes, and project coordination for solar projects typically ranging between 1MW to 10 MW. As a primary producer, you will ensure that all electrical systems meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications. Enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid role, with 75% remote work from anywhere in the U.S. and 25% required on-site presence in Champaign, IL.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and review of electrical systems for solar farm interconnections, ensuring compliance with local codes and utility requirements.
- Develop detailed schematics, system diagrams, and technical documentation using AutoCAD and other CAD tools.
- Coordinate with project teams to develop project schedules, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
- Prepare comprehensive interconnection applications, technical reports, and system schematics for utility approval processes.
- Collaborate with construction teams during project execution to address technical challenges related to electrical systems and interconnection points.
- Apply mechanical knowledge and systems engineering principles to integrate electrical components seamlessly within overall project design.
- Ability to travel up to Central IL up to 25%.
Qualifications
- Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois or eligible for licensure in Illinois with demonstrated experience in electrical engineering.
- Proven expertise in electrical system design, and system interconnections for renewable energy projects.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Experience with project management including scheduling, resource allocation, and stakeholder coordination.
- Knowledge of construction practices related to solar farm development and electrical infrastructure installation.
- Familiarity with schematics development, systems engineering processes, and mechanical aspects of power systems.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and regulatory agencies.
Pay: $130,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
