About the Role:Technica is seeking a motivated individual to join our growing team as a Project Engineer based in Sudbury, ON. In this role, the Project Engineer will support project operations with a focus on quality management and coordination activities, including payroll, purchasing, and reporting, while contributing to the overall success of the project. The Project Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager and a multidisciplinary team, this role will coordinate engineering, construction planning, and project controls activities to ensure alignment with project objectives, schedule, and budget, while providing valuable input into design reviews, constructability, and integration across work packages.
The key responsibilities of a Project Engineer include, but not limited to:- Coordinate engineering and technical inputs across multiple disciplines (mining, mechanical, electrical, construction)
- Support constructability reviews and assist in developing execution strategies for underground works
- Track and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), technical queries, and design clarifications
- Assist with development of project deliverables including:
- Cost estimates and supporting documentation
- Project schedules and progress tracking
- Risk registers and mitigation plans
- Liaise with client engineering teams to ensure alignment with design intent and project requirements
- Support procurement planning by identifying technical requirements and long-lead items
- Maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and revision control
- Participate in project meetings, workshops, and site visits as required
- Assist in preparation of progress reports and coordination of interdisciplinary activities
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mining, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred)
- 3-8 years of experience in mining, heavy civil, or industrial construction projects
- Experience in underground mining projects is considered an asset
- Familiarity with project delivery phases (FEL, ECI, EPC/EPCM) is an asset
- Strong organizational and coordination skills in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Working knowledge of project controls (cost, schedule, risk) is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6) is an asset
