Description: MAIN FUNCTIONS
A Chemist is an individual contributor in their early career development path. Personnel work with Specialists, mentor Chemists and First Line Supervisors to manage Lab instruments for Safety, Quality, and Operations and solve problems to support operating units and develop methods for non-routine testing. Hands-on work and data analysis is expected. Networking with immediate site key interfaces is expected to develop.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- OIMS and Safety Program Compliance
- Data integrity (DIAF) Compliance and understanding of QP&G.
- Develop knowledge of quality assurance based established testing
- Solve manufacturing/production problems by using specialized analytical techniques
- Responsible for the development and improvement of test methods
- Establish credibility in solving analytical problems using a broad range of techniques
- Responsible for selection, purchase, validation, removal, and maintenance requirements of test equipment to meet requests/requirements/needs.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Previous experience in a closely related position
- Advanced Degree required
- Demonstrates sound business judgement, decision-making skills, and customer focus
- Background with x-ray instruments; gas chromatography instruments, ICP instruments, nitro sulphur analyzers; experience reviewing current scientific methods
- Familiarity with different methods, making recommendations to customers
Education: Master's Degree in Chemistry
