Job DescriptionOur client is a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in greater Seattle, WA area. Their Gas Systems division is the largest part of the business and focuses on custom, build-to-order industrial systems used in energy, gas handling, and emerging markets like data centers and hydrogen.
They're hiring a Project Engineer due to growth and increasing project complexity. In practical terms, this role is about owning the mechanical engineering execution of a project from concept through commissioning.

Location: Greater Seattle, WA
Compensation: $100,000 - $125,000 base + full benefits (see below)
What You'll Do:- Defining system designs and engineering deliverables based on customer requirements.
- Managing engineering plans, schedules, and project deliverables across the full lifecycle.
- Selecting and sizing mechanical components such as valves, pumps, blowers, and heat exchangers.
- Translating conceptual designs into manufacturable solutions with fabrication teams.
- Reviewing fabrication drawings, piping layouts, and assembly documentation.
- Developing P&IDs, bills of materials, test plans, and supporting technical documentation.
- Supporting compliance with applicable engineering codes and safety standards.
- Monitoring project risks, schedules, and budgets.
- Supporting factory testing and commissioning activities.
- Acting as a technical resource for internal teams, vendors, and customers.
This is a hands-on engineering role - not purely design. You'll regularly interact with fabricators and need to be comfortable solving real-world problems as they come up.
Requirements- 3-5 years of experience in project engineering within manufacturing or OEM environments.
- Strong mechanical design and industrial systems experience.
- Proven ability to size and specify mechanical components.
- Familiarity with engineering standards and pressure vessel or related codes is preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Excel.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with gas systems, thermal/process equipment, or industrial fluid systems.
- Background in energy or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to fabrication-floor collaboration and commissioning activities.
- Working knowledge of industrial controls concepts.
- Experience supporting global or multi-site projects.
