Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Azure Data Engineer with expertise in Power BI and C# .NET to join our government domain team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data solutions utilizing cloud technologies, ensuring seamless integration and insightful analytics. Duties
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Lake, Spark, Hadoop, and ETL tools like Informatica and Talend to process large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
- Develop and optimize data models, warehouses, and databases using Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other relational database systems to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Build interactive dashboards and reports with Power BI, integrating data from diverse sources such as Looker, Apache Hive, and linked data sets to deliver actionable insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and develop RESTful APIs for data access.
- Write efficient code in C# .NET, Python, Bash (Unix shell), and Shell Scripting to automate workflows, enhance system performance, and support model training initiatives.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, processes, and security protocols aligned with government standards.
- Participate in Agile development cycles, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Azure Data Engineer or similar role within the government or enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in Azure cloud services including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and related tools for cloud-based data management.
- Hands-on expertise with Power BI for creating compelling visualizations and reports; familiarity with Looker is a plus.
- Solid programming skills in C# .NET; experience with Python for data analysis or automation tasks is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Apache Hive, and related ecosystems like Kafka or linked data frameworks.
- Extensive experience with SQL Server (Microsoft SQL Server), Oracle databases; knowledge of database design principles is essential.
- Familiarity with ETL processes using Informatica or Talend; experience in model training and analysis skills are advantageous.
- Knowledge of RESTful API development for secure data exchange; experience working within an Agile methodology environment.

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
