Job Summary
We are seeking an Electronics Test & Systems Engineer to support the validation, troubleshooting, and automated testing of PCBAs and embedded electronic systems. This role combines software-based test automation with hands-on hardware debugging and prototype rework to ensure products meet functional, reliability, and manufacturing quality standards.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in both software and hardware environments and enjoys solving complex electronic system issues at the component and system level.
Responsibilities
Test Development & Automation
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python, C++, or LabVIEW.
- Interface with embedded systems and electronic instrumentation for functional validation.
- Create repeatable test procedures for prototype and production environments.
- Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and bench-level testing activities.
Hardware Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve failures in PCBAs and electronic assemblies.
- Perform root-cause analysis using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Debug digital, analog, and power electronic circuits.
PCB Rework & Prototyping
- Perform precision soldering and desoldering of SMT components, including fine-pitch ICs.
- Modify and repair prototype boards during development and validation phases.
- Assist engineering teams with prototype bring-up and verification.
Validation & Quality Engineering
- Develop test plans and validation procedures based on engineering specifications.
- Verify system reliability and functionality under real-world operating conditions.
- Document test results, failure analysis findings, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and manufacturing teams to improve product quality and test coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience programming in Python, C/C++, LabVIEW, or similar languages for hardware interaction and automation.
- Strong understanding of PCB design, embedded systems, digital/analog electronics, and power circuits.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and electronic diagnostic tools.
- Ability to read schematics, PCB layouts, and CAD documentation.
- Experience with SMT soldering, hot-air rework, and prototype board modification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with embedded communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, or Ethernet.
- Familiarity with manufacturing test processes and production support.
- Experience with test fixture development and automated validation systems.
- Exposure to firmware debugging and embedded Linux environments.
- Knowledge of DVT/PVT testing methodologies.
