Position Summary
Bedrock Energy is hiring a Driller / Coil Tubing Driller to lead real time field drilling operations on our coiled tubing drilling system. This role is the core field operator responsible for safe execution, equipment control, crew direction, drilling quality, and day to day operational decision making. The Driller works closely with the Site Supervisor and Operations Engineering to execute the drilling plan while maintaining discipline, communication, and documentation standards.
This is a hitch-based role. Crew work rotations at project sites across the US. Bedrock covers travel to and from site, lodging during your hitch, and provides a per diem for meals.
Key Responsibilities

Operate the CT unit and lead real time drilling execution

Direct crew activity during drilling, tripping, rig-up, rig-down, and bore swaps, and other daily field operations

Maintain momentum of field execution by assigning work, prioritizing next steps, and ensuring the crew is productively engaged whenever work is available.

Control speed, depth, weight on bit, flow rate, and pressure during drilling

Monitor drilling conditions and respond to changing subsurface conditions in real time

Coordinate closely with the Mud Operator and Pump Operator to maintain borehole control and execution quality

Assemble, run, and monitor BHAs and related tooling

Ensure job data, well logs, and operational records are captured correctly

Support crew development and reinforce SOP compliance in the field

Oversee the condition, readiness, and day to day performance of all equipment assigned to the rig, and ensure required inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic service tasks are completed properly by the crew. The Driller is accountable for the operational readiness of the rig and associated equipment in the field.
Preferred Background

3-5 years of relevant experience
-
O&G coil tubing operator or assistant driller experience, or water well driller with rotary experience and strong mechanical aptitude

Prior experience leading or directing a field crew of 2-3 people

Working knowledge of drilling fluid systems and field coordination with mud operations

Experience with fluid pump operation and routine maintenance

Basic hydraulics knowledge preferred

Strong hands on mechanical aptitude, including equipment inspection, troubleshooting, and basic field repairs
Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated experience operating drilling equipment safely and effectively

Able to interpret pressure, depth, drilling response, and changing operating conditions in real time

Can read and act on basic operational trends and graphs, including pressure, depth, and ROP

Strong operational discipline and leadership in the field

Able to complete clear end of day notes, daily reports, and other required field documentation

Comfortable using a laptop for basic functions, reporting, and data entry tasks

Strong communication and ability to follow procedures consistently
