Position Overview
Top Hand Services is seeking an experienced On-Site Supervisor to lead field crews on out-of-state well plugging and abandonment (P&A), environmental remediation, and site restoration projects. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for translating project plans into day-to-day site execution while maintaining safety, production pace, and clear communication between the field and company management. The right candidate is a self-starter who thrives in dynamic field environments and takes ownership of the job from first mobilization to final restoration.
Core Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Production
- Direct daily field activity and coordinate crew assignments during plugging, remediation, and reclamation operations
- Control production flow and operational sequencing to move work efficiently from site prep through plugging and final restoration
- Track field progress through daily logs, quantity tracking, photographs, well-specific completion packages, and required system uploads
Safety Enforcement
- Lead daily tailgate meetings and task-specific Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
- Enforce full PPE compliance, lockout/tagout procedures, confined space protocols, TENORM handling requirements, and gas monitoring
- Manage incident reporting and ensure the field safety program is executed as designed by the safety coordinator
Communication & Coordination
- Serve as the primary on-site observer and communicator for field conditions, equipment readiness, access issues, environmental concerns, and unexpected downhole problems
- Coordinate with inspectors and stakeholders before and during critical operations including pipe work, cementing, well control steps, work plan changes, and final reclamation
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with project management, compliance leads, landowners, and support personnel
Team Structure
The On-Site Supervisor sits between company management and the field crew. This position will report to a project manager and compliance lead while overseeing a crew of four to six personnel per operational phase, typically including rig operators and drillers, floor hands and derrick personnel, pump operators, CDL-certified drivers, and general roustabouts or equipment operators. Quality assurance personnel verify cement volumes, plug intervals, pressure test results, TENORM handling, and disposal manifests in support of The On-Site Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading crews in the field
- Background in oilfield-related operations, with preference for experience in P&A, reclamation, remediation, or related field services
- Demonstrated ability to manage safety, schedule, production, equipment, and crew coordination simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and able to work effectively with inspectors, landowners, office leadership, and field personnel
- Self-motivated with the ability to identify and resolve problems quickly as field conditions change
Compensation
- 75k to 125k Salary With Lodging
- Commensurate With Experience
- Production-Based Profit Sharing
