Millwork / Cabinetry Engineer
Production Engineering | Manufacturing Support
We’re looking for an experienced Millwork / Cabinetry Engineer who understands how cabinetry actually gets built — not just drawn. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience using Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, AutoCAD, or cut-listing software, who enjoys translating design intent into clean, accurate, plant-ready engineering packages.
If you take pride in precision, optimization, and producing error-free information that keeps a shop running efficiently, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be a key link between production engineering and the shop floor, ensuring work orders are accurate, complete, and optimized before they ever hit the plant.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work closely with the Production Engineering team using AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, and/or Microvellum
- Build and optimize cut lists using Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, and CutRite
- Reconcile Bills of Material (BOMs) for each work order using CutRite output
- Verify hardware types, quantities, and material requirements
- Prepare custom millwork and cabinetry items for the plant
- Create and manage shipment items for products released to production
- Generate labels for the manufacturing process
- Release complete engineering packages to the plant for processing
- Identify discrepancies early and communicate clearly with Plant Management
Your work directly impacts shop efficiency, material yield, and production quality.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in millwork, cabinetry, woodworking, or manufacturing engineering
- Strong working knowledge of cabinetry construction and manufacturing processes
- AutoCAD experience required
- Experience with Microvellum and/or Cabinet Vision strongly preferred
- Experience with cut-listing and optimization software (CutRite preferred)
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Comfortable working in structured systems and established standards
- Clear, professional communicator who raises issues early and fact-based
Education
- Two-year technical degree or higher preferred
- Relevant millwork or cabinetry engineering experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Software & Tools You’ll Use
- Cabinet Vision / Microvellum – shop drawings & material assignments
- CutRite – cut-listing & optimization
- Bluebeam – shop drawing review
- Innergy – BOM reconciliation & shipment items
- Microsoft Teams & Outlook – communication
- Google Chrome – internet tools
Why This Role
- Stable, well-defined processes and expectations
- Opportunity to be a trusted technical expert
- Work that directly impacts shop performance and quality
- Supportive leadership and collaborative environment
- Focus on accuracy, craftsmanship, and doing it right the first time
