Entry Level Field Electrical Engineer

Zonge's Reno,NV division is currently looking for an Entry Level Electrical Engineer to assist in data acquisition, repair, performance testing, and eventually design of our geophysical field equipment product line including data loggers, transmitters, and sensors.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of mixed signal electronic circuits and strong troubleshooting ability. You'll start by working with our field crews to understand how the equipment is used, and grow over time into testing new products, reading schematics, analyzing signal flow, and eventually contributing to instrument design. This role requires field work approximately 50% of the time during your first few years.We offer employer-provided health and dental insurance, 401K, ESOP plan, paid holidays, and life insurance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical testing and evaluation of equipment and systems
- Operation of field equipment for standard production surveys
- Prepare technical documentation, schematics, drawings, and specifications
- Test geophysical equipment in field conditions (approx. 50% travel in year one)
- Contribute to the design and development of electrical systems, progressing toward instrument design responsibilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering; specialization in electronics/integrated circuits or power systems preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize independently
- Proficiency reading and implementing designs from technical drawings
- Ability to troubleshoot electronic systems and perform complex system tests
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working in a team environment
- Basic knowledge of FPGA and Verilog is a plus
- Internship experience in a design or QC team is a plus
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for sponsorship, now or in the future
- Must love to be outside and be extremely physically fit. We are looking for the engineer who doesn't want be in front of a computer screen all the time.
